A heartfelt and earnest communication with God
Prayer
Prayer is not just reciting words but a genuine conversation with the Creator of the universe. In Philippians 4:6 (NIV), we are encouraged, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” This verse underscores the idea that prayer is a way to cast our cares and concerns upon God, trusting that He hears and responds.
Prayer is the means through which we express our love, gratitude, and dependence on God. It’s not a one-sided monologue but a dialogue where we pour out our hearts and also listen for God’s guidance and wisdom. It’s a channel to seek His will, find comfort in times of distress, and experience His presence in our lives. In essence, prayer is the lifeline that connects us to the One who holds the universe in His hands.
For the next six weeks, we will talk about Prayer with Professor Michael DeFazio from Ozark Christian College. We will cover three videos this first week and then two videos each week with the questions for those sections in order to better understand how we can improve our prayer life with God.
